I hit this road both ways in early June, actually just a few days before jim did above. Had quite bit of trouble finding and then staying on Woods Cr portion from the Monroe side. Ended up inadvertantly taking Jim's route above via Meadow Lake rd, nice twisty bit of rd. Nice way to bypass the boring highly congested parts of #9 hiway.

Ride safe!

I live in the area on a nice curve that seems very popular with the local bikers. An alternate version of this that includes more twisty back roads and maybe a bit more fun:

From Hwy 2 in Monroe take Woods Creek Rd North
Left on Ingraham Rd - starts out curvy and has a nice curvy stretch in the middle
At the stop sign, make a Left on Wagner - after a couple of 90 degree turns it becomes Meadow Lake Road - follow to it's end
Right on Trombley Rd.
Right on Spada Rd.
Right on 72nd St. SE (a.k.a. Storm Lake Rd) - follow to it's end at Dubuque Rd.
Right on Dubuque Rd.
Pick up route as listed by heading North (left turn) on S. Lake Roesiger Rd. which becomes Menzel Lake Road.
ENJOY, and be safe!

4/5/09

Just got back from this ride up to Granite Falls from Bellevue. Nice.

Went out to Duvall, picked up Route 203 north, then picked up the route above. Were very few cagers, lots of bikers. The town of Granite Falls has plenty of destinations from an ice cream store to a few bars. We had lunch at "Los Flamingos" mexican joint. Fast service, bar in the back, restaurant up front. No sweat parking.

One caution, there's construction on Wood Creek (or whatever) at a corner. It's well marked, but you'll want to slow down, it goes down to gravel. It's only a couple hundred feed so no big deal.
