		<description>Comments:

The pavement north along FSR51 get very lumpy halfway up, but improves about 10 miles south of the town. We encountered cows on the highway.

South to Sumpter, they are rebuilding the bridge where these roads intersect. Other than that the pavement is excellent.

There are many animals throughout the area. We encountered a family of mule deer, two antelope and an elk that day.

<description>This is an amazing road. From the eastern end it links with road to Sumpter or north to La Grande among the Grande Ronde or east and higher through the mountains to Anthony Lake, when it drops 4000 feet in 15 miles. The whole area is excellent riding.
