Moving Over…

I’m getting all the roads moved over to the new site. Most of them are going to make the move, but some of the roads that aren’t as good as some of the others will be done last.

If you have any recommendations or requests, please drop a comment in here.

Update:

Well, that should be worth the effort. I recoded some sections of the theme to be widget-aware, so it’s much more flexible now.

Would be real useful if you could have a clickable overview map so that it would be easy to tell where on the state map a particular route is.

That's the plan, but I'm going to get some more of the roads in before I do that. There's quite a bit of effort in maintaining the images and linkmaps. Not work that I want to have to re-do very often.

The old site had that as part of a Drupal plugin, but the plugin wasn't well-maintained and didn't keep up with Google's changes very well.

I keep getting spam notifications when I try and post a comment or when I try to contact the administrator.

Wow, I actually got it to work. For some reason if you list a web address in the website box then you get marked as spam, just to let you know. Great site btw.

Great site!  Just a suggestion, it would be nice if you can add a section for new additions to the sites, such as any roads newer than say 2 weeks.

I’ll give that some thought. Last time I implemented that feature, it didn’t get a lot of use. Seems that most folks come into the site directly from Google.

If you’ll look over on the left, you’ll see the newest 5 or so posting under ‘Recent Posts’. If you RSS feeds, you’ll also find the newest posting as well, which are automatically updated.

Be forewarned, I’m going to be very busy getting the old road entries in over the next couple weeks.
